Ideal awarded contract

Ideal Innovations, a developer of biometric solutions, has been awarded a contract valued at $30.5 million by the U.S. Army’s Biometric Task Force, according to a Washington Business Journal article.

The contract spans one year, but has two options for one-year extensions and will see Ideal providing automated biometric identification system examination services. Further, the company is expecting to use 55 staff, including some newly created positions, to work the jobs required by the contract.

Comtech Mobile Datacom has received an order totaling $1.4 million under its movement tracking system contract with the U.S. Army.

The order is in Phase II of an ongoing effort to complete migration of all RFID processes to the new international standard ISO/IEC 18000-7. It encompasses modifications to the platform’s application program, network and other interfaces.
